So Peter, Gayle, and I (Shane) went on a lovely little road trip yesterday up the Craftsbury Opener. It was a 10 Km freestyle race and it was very fun; There were a lot of Vermont skiers there, and the Dartmouth and UVM teams were racing. Sadly I didn’t beat anyone on those teams , but my point is that the varsity skiers should be on the lookout for pre-season races that are happening nearby. I know that next weekend there is the Bolton Valley Opener on Saturday, it is a 5 Km freestyle race, and I think some of the Greylock team is going up (don’t hold me to it though). The following weekend on Saturday there is a classic race at Notchview that is very fun and unique (it’s a lap race for 35 minutes, so some skiers ski more laps than the less experienced ones).
